VOLUNTEER

What is it like to volunteer with the Lighthouse?

The Lighthouse has over 350 volunteers, three buildings and over 40 different frontline projects.

Our teams help to uphold the values of the Lighthouse:

To have love for all, compassion, dignity, respect, honesty, courage. The Lighthouses’ are places to belong, with generosity, acceptance, truth, hospitality, peace, and community. We believe in the significance of every individual, in kindness, hope, freedom and the love of God.

The Lighthouse is a community where people can find hope, purpose and friendship.

Coming here brought me back into the world. I was really not very happy - I'd had a stroke so I wasn’t going out or doing anything, and then someone told me about The Lighthouse and it has changed my life.

Have you got skills to share?

We’d love to hear from you if you have skills you can offer the Lighthouse projects.

Do you have spare time to share your IT skills, or legal advice? Perhaps you are great at hairdressing or have a business that could offer an apprenticeship. Please get in touch.

I feel privileged to be able to be part of an organisation that helps others in a positive, sensitive way with a heart to care for all people in our society... I do this in order to serve God and others but also because the people involved at the Lighthouse are inspiring and creative, accepting, and they are people of integrity.
