About us

The Lighthouse creates vibrant community hubs dedicated to supporting individuals and families through kindness, practical support, and community-driven initiatives. Operating in Woking, Aldershot and Guildford, The Lighthouse is committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of those facing hardship and challenges.

About the role

Reporting to the Directors, the consultant will undertake the following tasks:

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen and expand corporate engagement, fostering long-term support.

  • Conduct research to identify potential corporate partners whose values align with The Lighthouse’s mission.

  • Develop a corporate fundraising strategy, setting the foundation for sustainable corporate engagement.

  • Create compelling proposals, presentations, and reports to secure financial support and in-kind contributions.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with corporate donors, sponsors, and partners.

  • Organise and oversee corporate engagement events and fundraising initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and ethical standards in line with The Lighthouse’s values.

In completing these tasks, the consultant will provide the following key deliverables:

  • A comprehensive review of existing corporate partnerships and recommendations for development.

  • A researched list of potential new corporate partners with engagement strategies.

  • A long-term corporate fundraising strategy document.

  • Proposal templates and presentation materials for corporate engagement.

  • Regular progress reports and updates to The Lighthouse Directors.

About you

You will have:

  • Proven experience in corporate fundraising, corporate charitable programmes, or a related field.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.

  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.

  • The ability to develop innovative fundraising strategies – be a creative thinker.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fundraising CRM systems.

  • An ability to work independently and work collaboratively with the Lighthouse team.

  • Flexibility to attend scheduled meetings with The Lighthouse Directors at the Woking Lighthouse.

In addition to the above, existing corporate contacts and networks and knowledge of the Surrey and Hampshire fundraising landscape would be advantageous.

Payment and terms

The fee is £14,000 for the contract period.  Payment will be made in agreed instalments upon satisfactory completion of deliverables, which will be pre agreed and outlined alongside the contract.

If you share our vision to make a difference in local communities, we’d love to hear from you!

Please submit your CV and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and motivation for the role to Erik Jespersen [email protected] by 23 March 2025.
